⚠️ Meningitis B Update – Important Information for Our Patients

We are aware of the meningitis B outbreak in the Canterbury/Kent area. We want to reassure our patients and the local community that there is currently no outbreak in Cornwall and no local public health alert has been issued.

What You Need to Know

Meningitis B is a serious illness that can progress quickly. Although the current situation is centred outside our region, it’s still important to be aware of the symptoms, which may include:

  • Fever
  • Severe headache
  • Neck stiffness
  • Rash
  • Drowsiness or confusion
  • Vomiting
  • Cold hands and feet

If you notice any of these symptoms in yourself or someone else, please seek medical help immediately via NHS 111.
