How we process your eConsult/eLite

Since June 2020 we have operated a total triage system on the advice of National Health Service England (NHSE) to ensure we provide a safe service for patients and staff, this advice has recently been reiterated by NHSE.

We use a system called eConsult via the website to facilitate this. For patients without the access to technology we still operate a telephone system and patients will be called back by our reception team to complete an eLite.

The eConsults and eLites are processed by our clinically trained triager who considers the details and signposts the eConsult/eLite request to the most appropriate member of our healthcare team – who may not necessarily be a GP.

Our healthcare team consists of:

  • Advanced Nurse practitioner
  • Paramedics
  • Physiotherapists
  • Care Coordinator
  • Clinical Pharmacists
  • Social Prescribers
  • General Practitioners
  • Practice Nurses
  • HCAs
  • Administrators

After submitting your eConsult/eLite, you will be contacted within 48 working hours with an indicative time for your consultation, if it is considered clinically necessary you will be asked to attend either surgery (Port Isaac or Bridge Medical) – please note we still require you to wear a face covering and socially distance for the safety of our other patients and staff.

eConsult is not perfect, but it allows us to ensure that patients receive timely care with the most appropriate clinician.

We are increasingly using text messages to communicate, we are aiming to use texts to communicate our flu clinic dates in the near future – please ensure the surgery has your correct mobile number.

We are currently experiencing unprecedented demand on our telephones and in the dispensary; our staff are working as hard as they can and we appreciate your continued patience and understanding.
